Education and Credentials

Ellen Gayle Sovinee has been a holistic practitioner since 1989, nationally certified since 1993 and an individually NCBTMB board approved continuing education provider since 2007. Ellen Gayle’s initial Cranial Sacral training began in 1992 when she was first introduced to CranioSacral Therapy offered at the Upledger Institute.  As a student and teaching assistant in a number of cranial classes as well as precepting in 2 of their Advance trainings and clinic, she chose this work as her primary modality. Ellen Gayle also joined the U.I. team at Ft. Lemore, California to volunteer working on returning veterans.  After moving to Asheville, NC in 2006, she helped create an Integrative Medicine Center offering natural therapies to military veterans in need.  The organization, Helios Warriors, obtained a 501(c) status in 2010 and is continuing to help veterans in need in the Asheville area.  Ellen Gayle continued to receive additional cranial sacral training under the guidance of European Osteopath, Dr. Alain Gehin taking his 3 levels of cranial manipulation as well as  training under the guidance of Dr. Hugh Milne.  Additional research included Franklyn Sills, Biodynamics, some of the teaching of Michael Shea, Ray Castellini and others have been added to enrich her knowledge of the work.

Her Lymphatic Drainage training started with Emil Vodder  but has primarily been under the direction of Dr. Bruno Chikly as a student of three of his trainings and assisting in 2 levels.

The Trauma Workshop(s) recently came about after her involvement with working with military veterans.  Many caregivers (i.e. practitioners and family members) didn’t understand how to help support those with PTSD.  So with her experience in emotional release classes, as the founder and E.D. for Helios Warriors as well as her own traumatic childhood experience.  classes were created.  More information under Workshops.

In 2003 Ellen Gayle began offering continuing education training to massage and bodywork therapists at 3 schools in Southern California. After moving to Asheville, NC in 2006 and becoming a North Carolina Licensed Massage and Bodywork therapist (offering modalities shown above) and receiving approval as a NCBTMB CE provider in 2007, Ellen Gayle continued teaching at North Carolina schools, a spa and several private venues.
